Classwork: Persona + Brand

In this blog, we will discuss what branding means and how we construct our artist's persona and brand identity. This blgopost was made by my teammate Kristine and the task was also made by Lamiya

Branding

Brand image is the general impression, perception, and associations any given customer has about a brand.

It is a consistent message given out by a brand that is recognisable by the consumer.

Branding should not be an afterthought. Your brand message should be the first thing you consider.

A brand image can evolve organically over time or companies can perform or rebrand to take their company in a new direction. This is important to our project because it helps shape our artists persona and identity. When all elements of the production match the same style and vibe, the audience easily understands who the artist is. It makes the artist more recognisable, memorable, and consistent, instead of looking random or unplanned.

Artist Brand Image

Music Artists also have a brand image.

A message that is consistent across their public appearances, music videos, social media posts and even their album covers.

This gives the audience a look into their

- Personality

- Music

- Values

- Style

- etc

Heres an example from my teachers slides

Task

For our task, my group created our own persona and brand identity for our artist using a mind map. This helped us or our ideas clearly, understand the artist's style, and make sure all elements of our production state consistent.

Reflection:

Due to me being sick and not attending class/school, I wasn't able to participate as much on this task though I did understand the task and was able to participate at the start, as we began it in the previous lesson when I still attended class. In the future I will learn to initiate to help and contribute my part as much as possible regardless of my absence.
